Damask is a firm and lustrous reversible patterned fabric.

The pattern is often formed by weaving.

Modern damasks are woven on Jacquard looms (device used to weave cloth and tapestry).

Most Damask weaves are produced in monochromatic (one color) weaves in silk, linen or cotton fibers.

This fabric reflects light differently according to the position of the observer.

Most commonly used in table linens and furnishing due to low absorbency. Damask can also be used for mid-to-high-quality garments.
