Curtain sheer is a lightweight, translucent fabric often used to make curtains or drapes. 

This  fabric is thin with a loose, open weave, which allows light to filter through and create a soft, diffused effect.

Sheer curtains are often used in living rooms, bedrooms, and other areas where a light, airy feel is desired.

Care Instructions

  • Cleanse with care to extend the life of this fabric.
  • When machine washing do not fill more than half of the machine.
  • Allow sheer to soak for 5 minutes in cold water before washing.
  • Wash using a mild detergent and whitening agent if needed.
  • Run the machine on a gentle wash cycle for two to three minutes.

Uses

  • Curtain/Drapery: can be used on their own, or layered with heavier curtains or blinds for added privacy and light control.
  • Decor

Tips

  • French seam is preferred when sewing this fabric.
  • A loose tension with a shorter stitch is recommended.
  • A smaller universal needle is reommended (60/8) or (65/9)
  • The use of tissue between the seams or a stitch starter can make sewing this fabric easier. (a piece of fabric to start the seam on)
