Elastane also known as Lycra  is a highly elastic synthetic fabric. Despite having different names, Lycra, spandex, and elastane are all the same material, and these fabrics can stretch to 5-8 times their usual size.

  • Natural detergent and other additives can be used for cleaning.
  • For sweat stains or smells baking soda can be aded when washing.

Tips

  • For best results, sew this fabric with a stretch needle or thinner needle. These have a special round point and smooth peneration because it tends to go in between the fibers instead of through them.
  • This prevent fiber damage and prevents stitch-skipping.
